Anna Crenshaw would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Tuesday, driving in six on two hits to lead Gaston Christian past High Point Christian Academy 16-6. Crenshaw drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a home run in the fifth.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. GCS collected ten hits and High Point Christian had eight.

GCS pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored two runs for GCS.

GCS scored five runs in the fifth inning. The rally was led by Marianne Pumneo, a home run by Anna Crenshaw, and a groundout by Madelyn Bolick.

Emma Ghorley was the winning pitcher for GCS. She allowed eight hits and six runs over six innings, striking out four.

GCS socked home runs on the day. Crenshaw had a homer in the fourth and fifth innings. Mackenzie Hill went yard in second inning.

GCS is now 8-1
