Despite allowing 4 runs in the seventh inning, Gaston Christian Eagles Varsity defeated Metrolina Christian Academy 11-7 on Friday. There was plenty of action on the basepaths as GCS collected ten hits and Metrolina Christian Academy had nine. 

GCS got things started in the first inning when Mia Holmes singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

GCS put up five runs in the third inning. Maddie Pospeich, Ann Marie Wolfe, and Kendal Withers all drove in the runs in the frame.

Anna Crenshaw took the win for GCS. She lasted seven innings, allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out one and walking one.

GCS tallied ten hits. Holmes and Crenshaw each had mutliple hits. Holmes went 3-4 at the plate to lead GCS in hits.

GCS Varsity Softball is 9-1
